LAND SPORT
There are a huge amount of bicycle paths in and out of the city and MTB paths are also available inside the pinewood. Tennis players can find a hundred tennis courts covered with red sand and others on the beach. Besides several football pitches, an outdoor field for archery, areas for playing bowls (and 200 areas on the beaches), a bowling alley and a kart racetrack are available in Milano Marittima.
The equestrian centre Le Siepi, which is widely known at an international level, is located 500 metres away from the sea and has an extension of 150.000 square metres; here many important events take place. The horse riding lovers will have the chance to take part to organised championships and facilities to host 650 horses in summer are available.
The Adriatic Golf Club Cervia is located in the middle of the pinewood which links Cervia to Milano Marittima. The routes run through small lakes, sand hills, pinewood and consist in 27 holes. Here both professional players and amateurs can find the route that suits them. In summer championships involving different categories of players are organised.
AQUATIC SPORT
Aquatic sports are certainly our forte, thanks to the sea, small lakes, the river and canals. Cervia has a touristic port which can accommodate up to 350 boats and there are three sailing associations which manage to assist and accommodate catamarans and boats in general. Many schools of sailing, windsurf, aquatic ski, catamaran, swimming, canoeing, and acquagym are available. And now it is possible to do kitesurfing, that is going surfing drawn by a kite, and wakeboarding, the aquatic ski on a kind of skateboard.
The Club Canoa Kajak Cervia organises trips in the pinewood on one-place or more canoes to get to the salt pans or to the sea along Savio River.
BEACH SPORT
Almost every beach has an equipped area to do some sport: beach volley fields, beach tennis courts, beach soccer pitches, beach basketball courts, handball fields, beach rugby pitches, foot volley, ping pong tables and the timeless bowls game, with 9 kilometres of dedicated areas.
Entertainers on the beach will let you learn latin-american dances, such as salsa, merengue, mosquito.
The renowned “Beach Stadium” on the seaside is the perfect outdoor area to do beach sports and hosted important events, such as the World Championships of sand sculptures.
AIR SPORT
For those people who want to observe the beach from another point of view, not far from Cervia facilities to fly on a “ultraleggero”, a hang-glider, or going parachuting on the sea are available. And while flying, it is possible to enjoy the stunning view of hundreds of coloured kites on the free beach of Cervia, where every year the Kites Festival is celebrated.
Two “schools” of kite production participate: the eastern one, which prefers natural materials such as rice paper, bamboo and peculiar decorations like dragons, falcons.. and the western one, based on high technology, gums, carbons and fibreglass.
