Milano Marittima

It is surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, the salt pans and the pinewood; it is the ideal place to spend a holiday in the nature, doing sports, relaxing and having fun.

In the first years of the 20thcentury Milano Marittima was founded. Cervia was still a little town of 9.000 inhabitants and its economy was based on the salt production, agriculture and fishing. In 1907 the town of Cervia made an agreement with Maffei brothers from Milan, to whom a wide coast area was given. Here they had to build a series of villas in the luxurious pinewood to create the “city garden” conceived by the English utopian Ebenezer.
